I’m thrilled to share that two of my works were selected for the UIUC Fine and Applied Arts Graphic Design Exhibition! The theme of the exhibition was “In Progress,” which focused on showcasing how our work has evolved over the course of our studies.
The first piece chosen was my George Nelson exhibition poster (you can explore the full project here). This piece holds special significance as it marked my first full-scale branding project, where I designed everything from the logo and brand guidelines to advertisements, pictograms, and even a website. It was a project that pushed me to think beyond individual design elements and view the process holistically, and I’m proud of how it turned out.
The second piece selected was my Massimo Vignelli portfolio website (check out the full project here). This was another milestone, as it was my first venture into coding. The project not only revealed how much I enjoy coding but also sparked my interest in the UX side of design. The process of combining design and functionality to create an intuitive and engaging user experience was incredibly rewarding, and it’s something I’m eager to explore further in future projects.
Looking back at these projects, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how far I’ve come as a designer. If you had shown freshman-year me the work I’m creating now, I would have never believed it. It’s exciting to think about how much more I’ll grow, and I can’t wait to keep challenging myself in the years to come!
